Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11

This is the download of Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11.  It is a full
maintenance release. 

Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11 is certified against Oracle Developer 6i
(Forms and Reports) Release 2 if Oracle Forms Patch 16 and Forms interim patch
3487808 and Oracle Forms interim patch 3807970 are applied

If you have an existing Designer/SCM 6i release on your machine then this
download can be used to upgrade it. 

If you do not have Oracle Designer/SCM 6i on your machine then Oracle
Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11 can be installed into an ORACLE HOME of your choice. 

If you wish to use Oracle Forms 6i or Oracle Reports 6i from within Designer/SCM
6i then Designer/SCM 6i, Oracle Forms 6i and Oracle Reports 6i MUST be installed
into the same ORACLE_HOME. Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11 is not certified
against Forms patch 16 unless patch 3487808 and patch 3807970 are applied.

Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11 will replace 6i Release 4.10 as the
available download maintenance release. The 6i Release 4.10 external download
will be withdrawn soon after release of 6i Release 4.11. 

Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11 will automatically incorporate performance
enhancements into the repository during upgrade if your database has RLS (row
level security) enabled. This will affect the way thay you import a full
repository dump if the name of the database owner performing the import is
different to that of the exporting repository owner. Please install the
Designer/SCM client and read the release notes for full details BEFORE running
the RAU repository upgrade as the additions of the performance enhancements
and use of RLS is an irreversible action. Note that you can prevent the
these changes from happening by denying execute permissions on DBMS_RLS to the
repository owner ("repos owner").


How to install Oracle Designer/SCM 6i Release 4.11
--------------------------------------------------
1 Download the self-extracting zip file to a temp directory and unzip it. 

2 Invoke welcome.htm in the temp directory  to see the release notes and installation instructions. 

3 Follow the installation instructions given in the installation guide and release notes.
 
4 Run Setup.exe from the temp directory to invoke the Oracle installer. 

5 Download and install Forms one-off patch 3487808 to fix Designer bug 3390375. 

6 Download and install Forms one-off patch 3807970 to fix Designer bug 3782143.
